Acedia has been characterized many ways: spiritual depression, slothfulness, despondency, burn-out, mid-life crisis, even, “the noontime devil.”  Although often misunderstood and associated with monks and others living solitary lives, acedia is a spiritual malady that afflicts many Christians today. Join Pastor Holtey in defining acedia—what it is and is not—its position in spirituality, along with methods leading to healing.
