Winter is an exciting time at FPC-Fargo. Check out all of our wonderful opportunities.

On Sunday, December 28, we will celebrate Pastor Mary’s final Sunday with us. We will also welcome two special guests, Rev. Paul Lang and Rev. Rick Raum. They will stay after worship for our usual social time in the Gathering Space. If you would like to say hello, please plan to join us for worship on December 28.
 
A Congregational Meeting has been called for Sunday, December 28, following Worship in the Sanctuary for the purpose of dissolving the relationship between the First Presbyterian Church of Fargo and the Reverend Mary Jo E. Holtey.
First Presbyterian Church of Fargo invites you to join us for a luncheon celebrating Pastor Mary as she retires after 33 years of faithful service. The celebration runs from November 23 to December 28, 2025. Even if you cannot attend the lunch, come any Sunday to congratulate Mary.
Opportunities to Celebrate
  • December 21, 10:30 a.m. - Celebrating Mary’s leadership
  • December 24, 5:00 p.m. & 10:00 p.m. - Christmas Eve Services
  • December 28, 10:30 a.m. - Behold the Legacy
Our Christmas Eve services will be at 5:00pm and 10:00pm. A special Christmas Recital will begin at 9:30pm before the second service. Our Baker Downer location's Christmas Eve service is at 3:00pm.
Please note the church office will be closed to visitors and inquiries between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day. Church staff members may still be at work but will not have the interruption of the phones and doorbell, and there will be no need to find volunteers to cover the front desk over the lunch hour. Employees that choose to take time off will use PTO.  The office will be open again as usual on Monday, January 5, 2026.
Members of the worship committee invite you to lend a hand to take down wreaths, sconces, and the big Christmas tree following worship January 4, 2026.

Snow Camp @ Clearwater Forest: January 9-11! The cost is $175 per student. Thanks to our Presbytery, each student is eligible for a $100 scholarship toward the retreat; please contact Director of Church Life, Rusty Bender for details regarding the scholarships. Centering Prayer meets weekly on Thursdays from 12:15-12:50pm in the Jennie Roberts Room. Join the group for a time of silent prayer followed by a brief devotion. Come and find a moment of stillness in your day.
Please note that Centering Prayer will not be held 12/25/2025 or 1/1/2026.

Please note that the January Taizé Worship Service has been cancelled, and we will resume the service the following month on February 5th. Visit the Presentation Prayer Center’s Facebook page to find more dates where Centering Prayer and Taizé will be held at Riverview, and other inspiring events in the FM Area.
This special, meditative service, rooted in scripture, singing, and prayerful silence, is sponsored by the Presentation Prayer Center, who hold their own Taizé prayer service at Riverview Place on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, also at 6:30pm.
